In an earlier post on emotional agility in leadership we discussed how important it is to have emotional intelligence as a leader. According to David McClelland, noted Harvard Psychologist, leaders with strengths in 6 or more emotional intelligence competencies are far for effective. Emotional self awareness (ESA) is one of the largest indicators of emotional intelligence, and thus leadership ability. The study analyzed close to 4000 executives and showed 6 distinct leadership styles stemming from differences in emotional intelligence.
